Application 8.25" x 5.5"; circulars no. 150 & 153, 10" x 8.25", printed on both sides with particulars; pencil entries; fastened together with pin. Pencil entries, assuming that they are contemporary, are partial, and appear not to be finalized. Circular 150: "Prescribing New Form of Wholesale Liquor-Dealer's Stamp, and Directions for It's Use." Circular 153 of Additional Instructions, in response to a "large number of letters" to the Treasury Dept. regarding no. 150. The three items give detailed documentation of the processes of the gauging, stamping, and branding of dealer packages, including affixing, cancellation, covering, etc., etc. Even browning; dog-eared corners; a few edge chips & insect holes. Good condition. |
