VIRGINIA & TRUCKEE RAILROAD CO. Western Development Co. Receipt for "Royalty on 'Richardson's steam safety valves in use upon the following locomotives", etc. with attached V&T RR voucher.

14"x8.5" & 7"x8.5"; columnar forms with docketing panels. San Francisco & Carson, 1876 & May, 1876. Western Development's Invoice/Receipt lists 11 locomotives employing the "steam safety valve": Virginia; Carson; Comstock; Nevada; Humboldt; Reno; Genoa; Empire; Esmeralda; Aurora and Ophir. Locomotive "makers" are also listed and with the exception of Aurora, manufactured by Danforth M. Co., all of the remaining locomotives were built by Baldwin Locomotive Works. Docketing panel on the V&T payment authorization signed by H. Yerington. Fine condition.
